Reclaim your Wild Self in the raw, untamed, natural beauty of the Puna coastline. Hawaii is home to many rare native trees, birds and animals, such as the playful Hawai’i spinner dolphins and the graceful sea turtles. Experience your innate sensuality while sunbathing and swimming in the pristine ocean at the clothing-optional Black Sand Beach. Enjoy sunrise and moonrise meditations at the cliff overlooking the blue Pacific Ocean, just a short walk from your room.
The Big Island of Hawai’i is home to the Goddess Pele, who is actively worshiped as a Wild Elemental Force of Power, Creativity, and Transformation. Pele has been continuously erupting in Puna for over 30 years, and is literally birthing the a’ina – the land that nourishes us. Many people who come to Hawaii are affected deeply by the ancient magic and transformational power of this island paradise. Join us in tapping into the deep pulsation of this dynamic expression of the Goddess.
Kalani is an eco-friendly retreat center that co-creates a dynamic environment where all can thrive. They aim to be a living model for a healthy and vibrant planet. They welcome all in the spirit of aloha, and are guided by the Hawaiian tradition of `ohana (extended family) – both respecting our diversity and sharing in our collective wisdom in unity.
Kalani’s environment is ideal to unplug from technology and allow nature to recharge your spirit. With a temperate climate year-round and east-west trade winds, Kalani accommodations do not need to be equipped with heating or air-conditioning. Screened-in windows maximize airflow and views, offering you a breath of the planet’s freshest air. There are no phones or televisions in our minimalist rooms—allowing you to declutter your mind and start anew.
Three delicious meals are prepared for you each day and served on the open-air lanai (veranda). Kalani cuisine encompasses a variety of styles including Thai, Indian, and Italian. The chefs have extensive training and a common interest in creating healthful and delicious meals. We celebrate the abundance of Hawai’i by serving local tropical fruits and vegetables and fresh-caught fish. Seafood is often served at dinner (chicken and beef are served occasionally), and vegetarians are well-cared for. Most importantly, the chefs firmly believe that the care and love invested in the cuisine is transmitted to the diner, and everything is prepared with aloha. Vegetarian, vegan, omnivorous, and gluten free options are available.
